A new study by Engine Insights has found that a larger percentage of consumers are ready to head back into stores and restaurants this week, with numbers in support of continued reopening efforts growing as well. Click here for all the details from the Chain Store Age article.

Chipotle Mexican Grill has just executed a lease at the 47th Street Pavilion in Palmdale for a new pad building with approximately 2,328 SF. This location will also offer a “Chipotlane” drive-thru, allowing customers the ease to place their order via the mobile app or website for rapid pickup without having to leave their vehicle. Joining anchors Target, Home Depot, Ross Dress for Less and Petsmart, among other national and regional chain tenants, this will be Chipotle’s second Palmdale location, complementing their existing unit to the west by serving the eastern portion of the trade area. Construction of the building is anticipated to commence later this year, with a current projected opening of Q2 2021. Bob Haas of Cypress Retail Group represented the tenant in this transaction.

Bed Bath & Beyond has plans in place to reopen 600 of its stores, temporarily closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, by mid-June. The company has found great success with implementation of its buy-online-pick-up-in-store and contactless curbside pickup options thus far and is expecting to see continued growth as services are further expanded.
